Uncovering the Ocean's Secrets with Jeff and Sarah Milisen

In July 2024, Jeff Milisen and Sarah Milisen, photographers and marine biologists, brought their extensive experience and passion for the ocean to The Nautilus. Together, guests participated in extraordinary adventures designed to educate and inspire.

Through the Lens of Alex Kydd

We were honoured to host the renowned photographer Alex Kydd in July 2023, whose mesmerising underwater photography sessions unveiled the treasures of the world below the surface. Alex's artistry brought the vibrant and fragile ecosystems underneath the glimmering waves to life. Through his lens, guests were inspired to perceive the ocean in a new light and reflect on their role in its preservation.

The Manta Ray Symposium

In 2022, The Manta Ray Symposium took guests on an enchanting journey carefully crafted by our resident marine biologist and the AquaNautica team. Just 15 minutes from our secluded haven lies Hanifaru Bay—a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve—that comes alive during the north-western monsoon, revealing the mesmerising dance of manta ray cyclone feeding. In this free-spirited sanctuary, guests were gently guided on private excursions and immersed in soulful conversations, uncovering the mysteries of these majestic ocean beings.
